Hi, my name is Mandy. I'm a single mother of three wonderful children- Jacob, Sara, and Tyler. I also have a degree in English from Florida State University. One day when I was looking at the tags on movies on Netflix I decided to start adding tags myself to see what would happen. Eventually one of my tags became popular and it caught the attention of Hollywood producer Mark Sterbenz who saw it and liked it enough to contact me about turning the tag into a movie. I was very excited when I got an email from him. So excited that I didn't notice that the email address he gave me was his personal gmail account. Thinking that it was an official business email, I started to work on putting together a treatment for what would become "A Second Chance". I sent the treatment to Mr. Sterbenz who read it and loved it. He told me he had someone in mind to write the script and I could expect to hear from him soon about further instructions. Sure enough, not even a week later I got emails from Chad Menning saying he wanted to come stay with me while he wrote the script. We met at Panera where I gave him the treatment and he told me he loved it. We had a few meetings about the script and he even came to my house a few times to go over the outline. I later found out that Chad doesn't have a place to live and has been living in a van for over a year. He's been using movie scripts to get free meals from production companies, casting directors, and restaurants in exchange for an opportunity to pitch them his "amazing idea" that they will surely love. I feel really bad about helping him use my work to scam people even though I never got anything from it myself. I do have a bit of a feeling of pride though. I wrote a tag that went on to become a movie trailer.(seriously, he attached the tag to the trailer and released both on youtube) I just feel bad about how it happened. I just hope that this story helps some people from being scammed by him in the future. P.S.
